Quinelle “Q” Holder of Medium PR Agency

With 10+ years’ experience in the music industry Quinelle “Q” Holder has worked with some of the industry’s most notable artists like Desiigner, Young Thug, and T. I., as well as a plethora of brand names to include Nike, BET, and Beats by Dre. The 27-year-old co-owner of Medium PR Agency recently spoke with The College of Hip Hop about how he got his start in public relations, his greatest accomplishments and future goals.

What about PR attracted/intrigued you?
The idea that I can single handily get the ball rolling on helping an artist get to the next level in their career.

How did you come up with the name Medium?
I was thinking of a name for the company as business started to pick up and I wanted to pick something that represented the work I do properly. Medium stuck out because I’m literally a connecter and middle man. That’s how Medium PR Agency was born.

What do you enjoy most about working in PR?
Hunting down contacts and seeing the joy on my clients face when a campaign is successful.

What were you doing prior to starting the agency?
Hip-Hop Journalism and freelance A&R’ing.

What artist(s) would you like to work with in the future?
Paloma Ford, Jacquees, Sauce Walka and Megan Thee Stallion

What are some of your immediate goals?
Build up the agencies staff to at least 12 senior agents and 24 junior agents.

What are your long term goals (5-10 years)?
To have the most Billboard #’1’s, Grammy nominations and Platinum records than any other PR agency in the game.

What has been Mediums greatest accomplishment?
I’d have to say digitally integrating Desiigner’s “Panda” and jump starting Jay IDK’s music career.

What advice can you offer up-and-coming PR professionals?
Research everyone before you, start your portfolio now and learn something new every day.
Anything else you would like to add?

This company literally wouldn’t be anything without my business and life partner Sabrina Holder and God.
